Biography
Lynn grew up on Staten Island, NY and quietly took in musical roots that stem from listening to the classics sung by Mom in the kitchen to sing-a-longs around the piano, and hearing older brothers musical selections of early Beatles to Cream. Early influences of Jim Croce, Cat Stevens, Emmy Lou Harris, Crosby Stills and Nash and Young, had her lost in her room playing hours on end, on her Epiphone guitar. She played around the living room and sitting at Silver Lake Park. She ventured out to local coffeehouses on Staten Island and played on the Staten Island Ferry. She quickly realized how music could reach out to people in a way she had never experienced before. Lynn felt how it could touch people she wouldn’t have otherwise met, and she embraced her desire to play music.
Lynn has played music in Maryland since the late 80’s, Early performances were as part of the female duo, Hollyfield and Spruill. Two recordings later (Slipping Time and Blue & Green) won the duo multiple WAMMIE nominations. Lynn has been a finalist many times over for her songwriting in the Folk Category of the Mid-Atlantic Songwriting Contest. She has shared the stage with Grace Griffith, and made guest appearances with Greentree-Grace Griffith, Carey Creed, Jody Marshall and Paul Nahay.
Lynn is now embarking on a solo journey of bringing her music out. Her songwriting often stems from personal experience and connections to the natural world.
She is currently working on her first solo recording at Recording Arts, Fairfax, Va.
